MBA ConferenceMBA’s National Mortgage Servicing Conference & Expo is one event you cannot miss if you have any connection to the mortgage servicing industry. This year, it took place from February 25 through 28 in sunny Orlando, Florida—yet another incentive to attend!

Participants got to meet thousands of servicers from every background at the annual MBA Conference & Expo. Savvy servicers prioritize this conference because of the scope it gives them to network with their peers, share their experiences, and find out what is new in their area.

With compliance now less of an issue for the industry right now, servicers should be looking for opportunities to save money and streamline their operations to make sure they are functioning at maximum efficiency. They need to know the direction of the industry so that they can be prepared and ahead of the competition when change happens.

A must for anybody working in areas related to the insurance claims and repair industry, Elevate19 blended the former Xactware User Conference and PCS Catastrophe Conference with pioneering content from Geomni and ISO. Aspen participated again this year. This conference is key to finding out about cutting-edge developments in InsurTech, EstimatingTech, and technology for the insurance claims and repair industry. From previous Elevate conferences, we’ve learned that these events offer excellent opportunities to network with industry professionals, discover more about industry trends, and gain practical insights into new technology.
Mike Fulton, the president of Xactware delivered the keynote address, outlining important developments and key trends in the evolving insurance ecosystem with leaders from Verisk and Geomni. After the address, participants gained hands-on experience with the latest Xactware tools in the Xperience Lab and attended sessions on everything from the future of water damage restoration to the power of industry-wide data sharing.

The day after the conference, an entire day of free training was provided. This includes an NFIP claims presentation applicable to anybody seeking to maintain or secure NFIP certification.

Property Insurance and Restoration Conference February 2019

Aspen was delighted to participate in the spring meeting of the Property Insurance and Restoration Conference (PIRC). The key attraction of PIRC is that participants are encouraged to air their views on topics central to the property restoration industry, and they get the opportunity to discuss problems and solutions with other industry professionals. Topics at February’s event included lessons learned from disaster events, best practices for photo documentation, current background check requirements, and new technology.

Who Is the Audience?

PIRC is for everybody connected to the property insurance and restoration sectors. National leaders in their fields and other key figures make it their business to attend. Expect to see representatives from restoration companies of all sizes, as well as the insurance industry, IP, vendors and other key players. The goal of these meetings is to bring all sides together to discuss issues.

Schedule

This was a one-day event running from 9AM through to an evening reception at 5.30PM. Topics covered included reciprocity and other governmental and regulatory items, lessons learned from recent disasters, restorer requirements, photo documentation best practice, and background checks.

RIA gave a special presentation on its TPA task force.
